Public lighting in Berlin: a European capital with an exemplary moderate light pollution – Visual impressions vs Paris & Roma

Pictures taken in Berlin on 30th and 31st of August, 2019, with a Canon G9X MkII, on manual mode, at 50mm f/4 1/8s 800iso, WB daylight.

Original files format: JPEG highest quality 5472×3648.

Pictures appearance is very close to the visual impressions within the Berliner streets.

Project intended to show the moderate light pollution from the German capital compared to any other European capitals.

Berlin:

Overview of the nightly visual impression of Berliner streets.

Paris:

Overview of the nightly visual impression of Parisian streets.
Luminance more than twice the levels of the Berliner streets.

Nevertheless, it has to be noticed that Paris being engaged in a reduction of light pollution, new lighting LED installations exhibit significantly less luminance.

Berlin:

Luminance more than twice the levels of the Berliner streets and significantly above the one of Parisian streets, Paris being actively engaged in light pollution reduction.
